AbbVie Named to Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for Eighth Year in a Row
The DJSI World Index is a global benchmark that represents the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index based on long-term economic and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. AbbVie’s continued inclusion in both the DJSI World and DJSI North America Index reflects its ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable business practices and transparent reporting.
“Making a remarkable impact requires taking the long view – of investment, research and development and how we can be an effective long-term partner in health and well-being,” said Richard A. Gonzalez, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, AbbVie.
AbbVie placed second in its industry and increased its score by five points from 2019. AbbVie led the biotech industry in nine criteria:
- Environmental Dimension: Climate Strategy & Environmental Reporting.
- Social Dimension: Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy; Social Reporting; Health Outcome Contribution; and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Governance & Economic Dimension: Risk & Crisis Management; Supply Chain Management; and Information Security/Cyber Security & System Availability.
